How Printumo handles Etsy orders

When customers purchase your art on Etsy, Printumo automatically handles the entire order process behind the scenes. This guide explains how your Etsy orders are processed, from the moment a customer clicks "buy" to when their order is shipped from our print facility.

How Order Processing Works

1. Customer Places Order on Etsy

When someone purchases your artwork on Etsy, the order contains all the details Printumo needs:

  • Product information (which artwork and size they selected)
  • Customer shipping address
  • Quantity ordered
  • Special product options

2. Printumo Automatically Imports the Order

Every 4 hours, Printumo checks your Etsy shop for new orders. Here's what happens:

  • Only orders containing products you uploaded from Printumo are imported - if someone buys other items from your Etsy shop (that weren't created through Printumo), those orders are ignored
  • Each qualifying order is automatically imported into your Printumo dashboard
  • You'll see the order appear in your Orders section with status "Pending Payment"

Important: The system only processes orders for artwork that was uploaded to Etsy directly from your Printumo account. This ensures orders are correctly matched to your products and prevents confusion with other items in your Etsy shop.

5. Production Begins

Once paid, your order goes through several production stages:

  • Printing: Artwork is being printed
  • Shipped: Printing is complete, order will be shipped

6. Order Fulfillment and Shipping

When your order ships from our facility:

  • Printumo automatically sends tracking details to Etsy
  • Etsy forwards this information to your customer
  • Your customer receives professional shipping notifications
  • You don't need to manually update anything

Common Questions

"I don't see my Etsy orders in Printumo"

Most likely causes:

  1. Orders contain products not uploaded from Printumo - Only products you've specifically added to Etsy through Printumo will import orders
  2. Recent orders - The system checks every 4 hours, so very recent orders may take up to 4 hours to appear
  3. Connection issues - Your Etsy connection may need to be refreshed

To check:

  • Verify the product was uploaded to Etsy through your Printumo dashboard (look for "Added to Etsy" status)
  • Check if you're connected to Etsy by going to your store integrations
  • Wait up to 4 hours for recent orders to import

"Can I manually add an Etsy order?"

No, orders must come through Etsy's system to ensure proper matching with your products and customer information. If you need to process a custom order, create it directly in Printumo instead.
