A Shipping Profile in Shopify is a way to set shipping rates for different products and locations. It is essential to have since they determine how customers can receive their orders.
Without proper shipping profiles, customers may face issues during checkout, encounter unexpected costs, or be unable to complete their purchase.
With shipping profiles you can also set different shipping rates for different products. For example a large canvas print might have a higher shipping cost than a smaller one.
How Printumo simplifies Shipping Profiles
If you have created your products in Printumo and synchronised them with Shopify, you don’t need to worry about manually setting up Shipping Profiles in Shopify.
Once you’ve connected Printumo to your Shopify account, any products you create in Printumo will automatically sync to your Shopify store.
Printumo automatically creates a Shipping Profile for your synced products. The products will be assigned to a profile with shipping rates based on their size and shipping location.
How to set up Shipping Profiles in Shopify manually
If you’re not using Printumo, here’s how to manually create Shipping Profiles in Shopify:
- Go to Your Shopify Settings
- Log in to Shopify and click on Settings in the bottom-left corner of your dashboard.
- Select Shipping and Delivery.
- Create a New Shipping Profile
- Scroll to the Shipping Profiles section and click Create Profile.
- Give your profile a name, such as “Canvas Prints” or “Posters.”
- Add Products to the Profile
- Select the products that should use this shipping profile.
- For example, add all your canvas prints to one profile and your posters to another.
- Set Shipping Zones and Rates
- Choose where you ship to (e.g., Europe, North America).
- Add shipping rates for each zone. You can charge a flat rate, offer free shipping, or calculate rates based on weight or order value.
- Save the Profile
- Click Save, and your new profile is ready to use!
