This article explains how to make changes to your existing products in Printumo and how those updates automatically appear in your connected Etsy and Shopify stores.
Prerequisites
You must have at least one shop connected to your Printumo account (Etsy or Shopify) and have already created products that are published to those shops.
How to Edit an Existing Product
Step 1: Find Your Product
Navigate to your products dashboard and locate the product you want to edit. Look for products marked as "finished" or "published."
Step 2: Enter Edit Mode
Click the "Edit Product" button on the product you want to modify. This will take your product back into editing mode.
Step 3: Make Your Changes
You can now modify any of the following:
Product title and description - Update your product name and details
Available sizes - Add or remove size options for your product
Framing options - Change which framing styles are available
Pricing - Adjust prices for individual variants (size and framing combinations)
Mockup images - Select different preview images for your product
Step 4: Complete the Editing Process
Work through the editing steps until you reach the "Preview" stage. This is the crucial step - your changes will only sync to your connected shops once you complete the full editing process and reach the Preview step.
What Happens When You Save Changes
Automatic Syncing
Once you complete editing and reach the Preview step, Printumo automatically updates your product in all connected shops. You don't need to do anything manually - the sync happens behind the scenes.
What Gets Updated
Your connected shops will receive updates for:
Product title and description changes
All product variants (new size and framing combinations)
Updated pricing for each variant
New mockup images
Changes Only Sync When Complete
Your edits won't appear in your connected shops until you finish the entire editing process. If you start editing but don't reach the Preview step, your changes remain as drafts.
Syncing Edited Products to Shopify
When you edit and save a product in Printumo, the changes are automatically synchronized to your Shopify store.
By default, both product images and pricing remain unchanged on Shopify when you edit a product, only other product details like variants, SKUs, and inventory settings are updated. This gives you full control over what gets updated in your store.
To modify this behavior, navigate to Stores > Shopify Settings where you'll find two toggle controls under "Edit product configuration": Product Images and Product Pricing.
When image overwriting is enabled, Printumo will regenerate and update all product mockup images on Shopify each time you edit and save a product. When pricing overwriting is enabled, product prices will be updated on Shopify to match your current Printumo pricing.
Both settings are disabled by default to preserve any custom changes you may have made directly in Shopify. You can toggle these settings on or off at any time depending on your workflow preferences.
