How do I complete Stripe verification for my Printumo Shop?

Updated over a week ago

Before your shop can accept payments, Stripe needs to verify your identity and banking details. This is a legal requirement that applies to anyone receiving payouts through Stripe — it's not specific to Printumo.

Why Does Stripe Need to Verify Me?

Stripe operates under financial regulations that require them to confirm who they're paying out to. This process — sometimes called KYC (Know Your Customer) — ensures that payouts can be made securely to the right person.

Until verification is complete, your shop will not be able to accept orders at checkout.

What Information Will Stripe Ask For?

The exact requirements depend on your country, but Stripe will typically ask for:

  • Your full legal name and date of birth

  • A home address

  • The last 4 digits of your national ID or tax number (full number in some countries)

  • A bank account or debit card to receive payouts

  • In some cases, a photo ID (passport or national ID card)

All of this is entered directly in Stripe's secure onboarding flow. Printumo does not see or store any of this information.

How Do I Start Verification?

  1. Go to your Printumo Shop dashboard and open the Payments section

  2. If you haven't connected Stripe yet, click Connect Stripe to begin

  3. Complete the onboarding steps in the Stripe form that appears

  4. Once submitted, Stripe will review your details

You can return to this page at any time to check your verification status or complete any outstanding requirements.

Understanding Your Verification Status

The Payments section in your shop dashboard shows your current Stripe status:

  • Ready — verification is complete and your shop can accept payments

  • Incomplete / Action needed — Stripe requires additional information before payouts can be enabled. Open the Stripe onboarding form from the Payments page to see what's missing

  • Pending verification — you've submitted your details and Stripe is reviewing them. This usually takes 1–2 business days

  • Restricted — Stripe has flagged an issue with your account. Check the requirements listed in the Payments section and follow the prompts in your Stripe dashboard to resolve it

What If I'm Stuck or Restricted?

If your account shows a restricted status or lists outstanding requirements, open your Stripe dashboard (linked from the Payments section) for more detail. Stripe will tell you exactly what's needed and provide a way to submit the required information.

If you believe your account was restricted in error, you can contact Stripe support directly from your Stripe dashboard.

How Long Does Verification Take?

For most people, completing the form takes a few minutes. Stripe's review is usually instant or completed within 1–2 business days. You'll receive an email from Stripe once your account is verified and payouts are enabled.

Once your Stripe account shows a Ready status in Printumo, and your Stripe Tax setup is also complete, your shop will be ready to go live.
