What am I responsible for as a Printumo Shop seller?

Updated over a week ago

When you run a Printumo Shop, you are the Merchant of Record. This means that in the eyes of your customers β€” and the law β€” you are the seller. Payments are processed through your own Stripe account, and you are responsible for the sale.

This guide explains what that means in practice.

What Printumo Handles

Printumo takes care of everything on the production and fulfillment side:

  • Printing, framing, and quality control

  • Packaging and shipping orders to your customers

  • Providing tracking information

Printumo is your production and fulfillment partner β€” not the seller.

What You Are Responsible For

Pricing

You set your own retail prices. It's your responsibility to ensure your prices are reasonable, clearly displayed, and comply with any applicable consumer protection laws in the countries you sell to.

Tax

As the Merchant of Record, you are responsible for tax compliance on your sales. Printumo Shop uses Stripe Tax to automatically calculate and collect the correct tax at checkout based on your customer's location. However, you remain responsible for ensuring your Stripe Tax setup is accurate and up to date, and for any tax filing obligations in your jurisdiction.

If you have questions about your specific tax situation, we recommend consulting a tax professional.

Refunds and Disputes

Since payments go directly to your Stripe account, you are responsible for handling refund requests and any payment disputes (chargebacks) raised by your customers. Stripe provides tools in your dashboard to manage these.

For production errors or quality issues caused by Printumo, contact Printumo support β€” these are covered under Printumo's reprint and refund policy.

Customer Communication

Your customers are buying from your shop. You are the first point of contact for questions about their order, your return policy, and any other queries related to the purchase.

Printumo sends automated order confirmation and shipping emails on your behalf, but any additional customer service is your responsibility.

Your Shop Content

You are responsible for the content published in your shop, including product descriptions, images, and any other text. Make sure you have the rights to any artwork or content you upload, and that nothing in your shop violates applicable laws.
