Updating the featured image on imported Squarespace products

When you import a product from Squarespace and finish setting it up in Printumo, we update the listing with your Printumo product: the variants, description, and product images (including your mockups) are all pushed back to Squarespace. The main image on the product page becomes your Printumo mockup.

Why the list thumbnail still shows your original image

You may notice that in your Squarespace product list, and in the "Featured Image" section of the product, the thumbnail still shows the original image rather than your Printumo mockup.

This is a limitation of Squarespace, not something Printumo can change. Squarespace keeps a separate "featured image" for each product (used for collection and list thumbnails) that sits outside the product's image gallery. Squarespace's API does not let apps like Printumo read or change this featured image, so we cannot update it for you automatically.

This only affects products you imported from Squarespace, where a listing already existed. Products you create in Printumo and then add to Squarespace show your mockup everywhere, because the featured image is set when the product is first created.

How to update the featured image

You can set the featured image yourself in Squarespace in a few seconds:

  1. Log in to Squarespace and open the store page that contains the product.
  2. Click the product to open it.
  3. In the product editor, set one of your Printumo mockups as the featured image.
  4. Click "Save."

Your product list thumbnail will now show your Printumo mockup.
