Printumo makes a set of mockups for every product, and you can now add photos of your own alongside them. If you have photographed one of your prints on a wall, in a frame, or in your studio, that photo can sit in the same gallery. You also decide the order the photos appear in, and the first one is what buyers see first in your Printumo Shop and in your connected stores.
Step 1: Open the product's mockups
Go to Products and click the product you want to change.
Scroll to the Mockups section. It shows every photo the product has, with a count next to the heading.
If the product has more photos than fit in the first rows, click "Show more" to see the rest.
You can also do all of this while you set a product up, in the mockup step of the product wizard.
Step 2: Upload your own photo
Click the dashed tile marked "Upload your own". It sits at the end of the gallery.
Pick a photo from your computer or phone. It uploads as soon as you choose it, so there is no second button to press.
Your photo joins the gallery with a small camera badge on it, so you can always tell your own photos from the ones Printumo made.
Use JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC (the format an iPhone saves by default). The photo needs to be at least 500 pixels on its long side, and no larger than 25MB. Printumo converts it to a JPEG, turns it the right way up, and resizes it to the same size as every other mockup, so it loads just as fast on your storefront.
Step 3: Put the photos in the order you want
Drag any photo to a new place in the gallery. On a phone, or if you prefer the keyboard, use the small left and right arrows on each tile.
Printumo saves the new order for you and confirms with "Photo order saved". There is nothing else to click.
To remove a photo, click the bin icon on the tile. Printumo can always make its own mockups again, but a photo you uploaded yourself is the only copy, so deleting that one cannot be undone.
What the order controls
The order is not just for tidiness. It decides what shoppers see:
The first photo is the main picture on the product card in your Printumo Shop product grid, and the cover image when that product leads a collection.
The second photo is the one the card fades to when a shopper hovers over it.
The first photo is also the picture the product page opens on, and the picture that appears when someone shares a link to the product.
The same first photo leads the listing in every connected store whose gallery Printumo manages. A listing you imported is the exception, see below.
Until you drag a photo for the first time, Printumo leads with the picture that matches the frame option the product page opens on, so a "No Frame" page does not open on a framed photo. The moment you set your own order, your choice takes over and Printumo stops rearranging anything.
Where the photos are published
After you add, remove or reorder photos, Printumo pushes the gallery to your Shopify, Etsy, Wix, WooCommerce and Squarespace listings whose images Printumo manages. Products you imported from WooCommerce or Wix keep the gallery you already built there, so those are deliberately left alone.
On a Shopify listing you imported, the photos that were already on the listing keep the first position. Printumo adds your gallery behind them, so your first photo leads the Printumo mockups but not the listing itself. This is on purpose: an imported listing is one you built, and Printumo does not push your own photography out of the lead.
Printumo only ever replaces its own images on a Shopify listing. Photos you added in Shopify yourself are never deleted.
The push waits about half a minute before it runs. That is on purpose: if you upload several photos in a row, they all travel together in a single update instead of rebuilding the listing once per photo.
Good to know
You can upload up to 10 of your own photos per product, within an overall limit of 50 mockups per product.
Your own photo is not linked to a particular frame colour, so it never becomes the picture a frame selector switches to. The mockups Printumo renders cover that.
The "Download mockups" button at the top of the Mockups section gives you a zip of every photo on the product, including the ones you uploaded.
