Customising your Printumo Shop

What you can change in the shop editor: colours, fonts, your logo, the hero section, the menu and the footer. Plus an honest list of the things that are fixed.

Your Printumo Shop comes with a visual editor. You can change your colours, your font, your logo, your front page and your menu, and see the result before you save. This article covers what you can change, and is honest about what is fixed.

Opening the editor

  1. From your dashboard, open "Printumo Shop".

  2. Click "Customise Shop".

  3. Work through the panels on the left, then save. A live preview shows your changes as you make them.

The panels are "Styling", "Logo", "Menu", "Hero", "Products", "Grid", "Info", "Related", "About", "Text" and "Footer".

Colours and font

The "Styling" panel holds eight colours: "Menu color", "Menu text color", "Button color", "Button text color", "Background color", "Text color", "Footer color" and "Footer text color".

Set the button colour and the button text colour together. If you set both to the same shade, your buy buttons will look blank to customers, because the text disappears into the button.

"Font family" changes the typeface across your whole storefront, including your shop name, your headings, your product titles and your body text. Ten fonts are available: Inter, Roboto, Open Sans, Lato, Montserrat, Playfair Display, Cormorant Garamond, Raleway, Poppins and Nunito.

If a font change does not seem to appear, save the editor and then reload your public shop address rather than the preview.

Your logo

The "Logo" panel takes an image or a piece of text, but not both at once.

  • If you upload a logo image, your header shows only that image.

  • If you do not upload one, your header shows your "Logo text" instead.

So if you have uploaded a logo and still see wording next to it, you are looking at a header with no image attached, or at a preview that has not saved yet. Upload the image and the text step aside on its own.

For the image: use PNG, JPEG or SVG, at least 48 pixels tall, up to 5 MB. A transparent background gives the best result. There is no required shape or aspect ratio.

Use the "Logo size" slider to scale the logo between 50% and 200%. The slider sets the height, and the width follows automatically, so your logo never stretches.

Your shop name

Your shop name cannot be empty. It must be at least five characters long, must use only letters and spaces, and must not already be taken by another shop.

This is why clearing the name field does not remove wording from your header. To change what appears in the header, use the logo settings above.

The hero section

The hero is the large banner at the top of your front page. In the "Hero" panel you can:

  • Turn it off entirely with "Show Hero section".

  • Set the "Title" and an optional "Subtitle".

  • Set the "Title & subtitle color".

  • Use a "Background image", or leave it empty and set a "Background color" instead.

  • Adjust "Overlay strength" to darken a background image so the text stays readable.

For a background image, aim for 16:9 or 3:2, at least 1920 by 1080 pixels, up to 5 MB.

The height of the hero is fixed. There is no setting for its padding or for the space above and below the text. If the banner takes up more room than you want, turn it off and let your products start higher up the page.

The menu

Your storefront has four built-in pages: your home page, your shop, your About page and your Contact page. In the "Menu" panel you can rename any menu entry, drag it into a different order, and use "Show in menu" to hide one you do not want.

You can also add two other kinds of menu item: a link to one of your collections, and a link to any external address.

You cannot add your own extra pages. The four built-in pages are the complete set.

The footer, and one thing to know about it

Your footer shows a set of Quick Links and your social media links.

The Quick Links are fixed: Home, Shop, About and Contact. They do not follow the menu settings. So a page you have hidden from your menu will still be listed in your footer. If you want a page gone from both places, empty its content rather than hiding it, and tell us if you would like it removed from the footer as well.

Legal pages

Your privacy policy and your terms are editable, and you can add a refund policy, a shipping policy and a legal notice.

  1. Open "Printumo Shop" and go to your policies.

  2. Choose a policy type. A template is provided, which you can edit freely in your own language.

  3. Only the policies you enable appear in your footer.

A privacy policy and terms are required. The others are optional.

Language

Two language settings exist, and they are separate.

  • "Shop Language" sets the default language of your storefront. Eight are available: English, French, Dutch, German, Danish, Swedish, Italian and Spanish. Your visitors also get a language switcher, so they can change it themselves.

  • The language of the Printumo dashboard itself is set separately, in your own profile. Change it there if you would rather work in English than in your local language, or the other way round.

Going live

Your shop settings hold a "Shop Visibility" control. Use "Hide shop" while you build, and "Make shop live" when you are ready for customers.

A hidden shop cannot be reached by your customers, so check this first if your shop address returns a page not found.
