The cookie banner on your Printumo Shop

When you connect Meta, Google or Pinterest, your shop asks visitors to accept or reject cookies. What visitors see, what happens when they choose, and what it means for your privacy policy.

Advertising tools such as the Meta pixel and Google Analytics use cookies, and in many countries a website must ask before it uses them. Your Printumo Shop does this for you. As soon as you connect one of these tools, your shop shows a small cookie banner and waits for the visitor's answer.

When does the banner appear?

Only when you have connected at least one account under Settings, Ads and analytics: Meta, Google Analytics, Google Ads or Pinterest. A shop without any of these shows no banner, because it sets no advertising cookies.

The Statistics tab does not need the banner. It counts visitors without cookies.

What your visitors see

On a computer, the banner is a small box in the bottom-left corner. On a phone, it sits along the bottom of the screen. It uses your shop's colours and font, it is shown in the language your visitor is browsing in, and it says:

We use cookies to analyse our traffic. By clicking “Accept”, you consent to our use of cookies.

Under the text there is a link to your privacy policy and two buttons: Reject and Accept. Every visitor sees the banner on their first visit, wherever they are in the world.

What happens when a visitor chooses

  • Accept: the tools you connected load, and your shop starts telling them about visits, viewed prints, carts and orders.

  • Reject: nothing loads, and nothing about that visitor is sent to Meta, Google or Pinterest. This includes the sales Printumo can send to Meta from our server.

The choice is remembered in that browser for about six months, so a returning visitor is not asked again on every visit.

Changing their mind

Every page of your shop has a Cookie settings link in the footer, next to your legal pages. It opens the banner again. A visitor who first accepted and then clicks Reject has the tools' cookies removed, and the page reloads without them.

Your privacy policy

Your privacy policy has to tell visitors which tools you use. If you use the privacy policy Printumo writes for you, this is done automatically: it gains a paragraph that lists the tools you have connected, and it updates when you add or remove one. If you use the Meta Conversions API, it also says that orders are sent to Meta from our server.

If you have written your own privacy policy, Printumo cannot change it. You can see which one you use under Settings, Legal pages: it says Using template or Edited by you. With your own policy, the Ads and analytics card reminds you to add a paragraph yourself. You can use this one and adjust the list to the tools you have connected:

If you accept cookies in the banner on this site, we also use advertising and analytics tools from the companies below. They set cookies and receive information about your visit, such as the pages you view, the products you add to your cart and your purchases. We use this to see how our advertising performs and to show you relevant ads on other websites and apps: Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google Analytics, Google Ads, Pinterest. These tools do not load until you accept. You can withdraw your consent at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

Can I change the banner or turn it off?

No. The banner text and buttons are the same in every Printumo Shop, and the banner stays on while at least one account is connected. To remove the banner, remove all your IDs under Ads and analytics and click Save.

As the seller, you are responsible for the rules that apply to your shop. The banner and the automatic privacy policy are there to help, and if you are unsure what applies to you, ask a legal adviser. See What am I responsible for as a Printumo Shop seller? for more.
