Your Printumo Shop has a blog. Use it to tell shoppers the story behind a print, show your studio or announce a new collection. You can put your products and collections right into a post, so a reader who likes a print can buy it from the post they are reading.

Posts appear on the Blog page of your shop. Search engines can find them too, which brings new visitors to your shop.

Step 1: Open the Blog tab

  1. In the menu on the left, click "Printumo shop".
  2. Click the "Blog" tab. It lists all your posts, with the live ones first.
  3. Click "New post".

Step 2: Write your post

  1. Type a title, for example "The story behind Moonlit Harbour".
  2. Write your text. The toolbar has bold, italic, links, headings, quotes and lists.
  3. To add a picture, drag it into the text or click the picture button in the toolbar. You can use JPG, PNG or WebP pictures of up to 15 MB each.
  4. To show one of your prints, click "Add product" and pick it from the list. To show a whole collection, click "Add collection".
  5. Under Cover picture, choose the picture that shows at the top of the post, on the Blog page and when somebody shares the post. If you choose none, the first picture in your post is used.

The cover always shows as a wide picture, cut from the centre, whatever shape you upload. Choose one with its subject in the middle. We make a light, fast copy of every picture for your shoppers, so you can upload your full-size files.

A product in a post shows the way it does in your shop, with its picture and its current price. If a sale is running, the post shows the sale price. If you later take the product out of your shop, it simply disappears from the post.

Step 3: Choose how the post looks on Google (optional)

Open "Search engines and sharing" to change how the post looks in search results and on social media.

  • Search title: leave it empty to use the post title.
  • Search description: leave it empty to use the first lines of the post.
  • Web address: made from the title. You can change it at any time. The old address still leads to the post, so links you already shared keep working.

Step 4: Publish, save or schedule

The buttons are at the top of the page, next to the post's title.

  • "Publish" puts the post on your shop straight away.
  • "Save draft" keeps it private. Only you can see a draft.
  • "Preview" opens the post in a new tab, the way shoppers will see it, without saving anything.
  • To publish later, open "Schedule for later" in the Status box, pick a date and time, and click "Schedule". The post goes live by itself at that time. The time is in UTC.

Where shoppers find your blog

As soon as your shop has a live post, a Blog link appears in your shop menu and in the footer. Before that, your shop shows nothing of the blog.

  • To rename or hide the menu link, click "Customise shop" and open Menu.
  • To show your newest posts on your home page, click "Customise shop", open Sections, click "Add section" and choose "Latest posts". You can give it your own heading and choose how many posts it shows.
  • Each post shows the date it went live. To hide the dates, switch off "Show the date on posts" at the bottom of the Blog tab. This applies to all your posts.

Changing or removing a post

  1. On the Blog tab, click the post.
  2. Make your changes and click "Save changes". A live post keeps its date.
  3. To take a post off your shop, click "Unpublish" in the Status box. It becomes a draft again. A scheduled post has "Move back to drafts" instead.
  4. To remove a post for good, click "Delete" in the same box. You cannot get a deleted post back.

How many posts you can have

A free account can have 3 posts. Drafts and scheduled posts count too. With Printumo+ you can write as many as you like.

If your Printumo+ ends while you have more than 3 posts, nothing goes offline. All your posts stay live on your shop, but you cannot change them or write new ones. You can still unpublish or delete a post at any time. When you have 3 posts or fewer, you can change them again.

Seeing which posts people read

Once your shop has a blog, the Statistics tab shows "Most read posts": your posts with the most page views. This card is part of Printumo+, like the other detail cards there. See Seeing who visits your Printumo Shop.

Frequently asked questions

Which language should I write in?

Write in the language of your shop. Your post shows exactly as you wrote it. Our own buttons and labels around it follow the visitor's language.

Can I put a post on my Shopify, Etsy or Wix store?

No. The blog is part of your Printumo Shop. It does not send posts to other stores.

Can visitors comment on my posts?

No. Posts have no comments, so there is nothing to moderate.
